Wade started his domestic career for Tasmania during the 2006-07 season.

During that period, Tim Paine was also seen as Brad Haddin’s replacement. Wade thought his chances of being selected as a wicketkeeper were less, so the left-hander moved to Victoria during the 2007-08 season.

In the first couple of seasons, Wade’s performance was quite impressive and he became the first-choice wicketkeeper.

He scored his first first-class century during the 2008-09 season. In the final of the 2009-10 Sheffield Shield season, Wade batted brilliantly by scoring 96 when the team was 5/60. Victoria won that game.

Wade was selected as a first-choice wicketkeeper, even though Tim Paine was in the playing XI. Wade was selected as a specialist batsman.

Wade plays for Hobart Hurricanes and had earlier played for Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League.

He was later made the captain of the Tasmanian cricket team in the middle of the 2018-19 season because George Bailey was released from his captaincy role as he wanted to focus on his batting.

International Career
