The coaching stint of Sarfaraz Khan started when his father, Naushad Khan, saw that he times the ball well, and at a very young age, Sarfaraz Khan began his coaching drills with his father.

In that season, he was the youngest player to participate in the tournament. Khan played an innings of 45 runs from just 21 balls to establish himself in the team. This was against the Rajasthan Royals team.
